Jennifer Campbell Kirk

I am a British patchwork quilt-maker. I work in cotton, linen, wool and bamboo using traditional patchwork and quilting techniques passed down to me by my late Texan mother-in-law. My inspiration is deeply rooted in historical quilt patterns and collections from 1750 to 1950 looking at the significance of narratives and histories behind traditional quilts. I combine these timeless antique designs with contemporary interpretation using commercial fabrics and hand dyed indigo cloth using stitch resist techniques. My processes fuses the industrial use of a sewing machine with traditional hand quilting. To view more of my work visit
