Conference & AGM 2020

A Ceilidh of Quilters 

We look forward to meeting you at our next Conference in Stirling - 17-19 April 2020.

Region 16 team are working hard to get everything place for a successful conference in 2020.  Unfortunately not all copies of the Quilter contained a copy of the brochure and the booking form.  We are seeking to rectify this just as soon as possible.  Online bookings will go live shortly.

Accommodation:  

Accommodation is available in Stirling or Bridge of Allen and the surrounding areas.  You can find out about places to stay on the Visit Scotland website (click here) or use your preferred search engine/hotel booking website. Please note we are advised that the tourist office will not now book accommodation over the phone.

There is a bus service from both Stirling and Bridge of Allen to the Stirling Court Hotel.  FirstBus operate the following services to the University – Unilink (UL), 51/52, 54, 55l

There are also good taxi services.


CONFERENCE AND AGM 2020: Programme

The Conference programme is a great mix of national and local talents and skills.  The weekend will be filled with workshops, lectures, exhibitions, competitions. the ever popular carousel and the opportunity to catch up with friends from across the UK.

Workshops:  will be held in the Stirling Court Hotel.  Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis up to the capacity for that workshop.  On booking, the requirements list will be sent to you with your confirmation.  If the list is missing, please notify the Guild office in York immediately.

Lectures will be held in the Logie Lecture Theatre and the AGM will be held in the MacRobert Theatre.  Both are in the University buildings close by.  Details will be included in your information pack when you arrive.

There will be two carousels in the Blair Atholl Suite on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th of April.  Come along and see up-close different techniques in a new and exciting way!  Book your ticket to participate in the session and, on the day, move around the many tutors.  Each one will be giving a 20 minute demonstration or an opportunity at hands-on experience with expert advice and tips.  Be sure to book your place and head to your favourites first – or why not try something new?!  Great value for money - £20 per afternoon session
