Gwyneth Rose

I have been a Patchworker since 1976. In the 1990's I taught City & Guilds Patchwork & Quilting and Preparing Working Designs to Adults at Southgate College in North London. Later on I became a Senior School Teacher of Textiles and in the course of gaining my Qualified Teacher Status, I enrolled on a BA(Hons) Applied Art (Textiles) course. For my degree work I specialised in hand made felt garments decorated with rust. Four years ago I moved to Mid Wales, and recently, I have re-discovered my love for traditional Patchwork and Quilting. I have had a large studio built which allows me to work on a variety of different projects at once. I am currently experimenting with different colour to fabric methods and developing a range of contemporary work inspired by rusted industrial machinery and the industrial landscapes of my native Wales. I have recently had a solo exhibition at CARAD the Rhayader Museum and Gallery. For more information on my work see my website at

I am happy to offer illustrated talks on my current work and to offer workshops on P & Q, Hand Felting and various colour to fabric techniques.
