Heather Hunt

I learned to quilt whilst living in Australia. My style has developed slowly after taking many lessons from well known quilters and interpreting their influences in my work. At the moment I am enjoying making scrappy quilts using quirky fun fabrics combined with more traditional fabrics to create visually interesting quilts.
Having made hundreds of machine quilts I’ve decided to slow down and concentrate on hand pieced EPP quilts and appliqué quilts. I particularly love medallion quilts and traditional antique pieces and these influences feature heavily in my recent work

I employ an organic relaxed approach to design although I use very traditional American and English piecing and needleturn appliqué albeit with modern fabrics. I am available to teach workshops and regular classes.

I was recently appointed as Digital Officer of The Quilters Guild and am a member of three local quilt groups in Hertfordshire, I am chairperson of Cut Loose Quilters in St Albans. My work can be seen on my Instagram page @Heatherrobinsonhunt
