A move to York coincided with the opening of the Quilt Museum and Gallery. New volunteers were recruited and a great chance to meet people and make new friends. 10 years later and the groups and the friendships continue. We all meet up at Harrogate Knit & Stitch and put our volunteering skills to good use.
Fishergate Crafters continue to explore new techniques and push the boundaries. Batik, surface Stitch, foundation piecing have all been attempted. The opportunity to slow stitch in each other's homes and gardens is something to look forward to for years to come.
Currently I am learning about surface design with Leah Higgins at Urban Studio North. A purpose designed space to explore all things about colour, dyeing, breakdown printing. Exciting stuff!
