Rosalind Johansson

My passion is ethnic design and traditional techniques in textiles. I don’t like seeing decades of skill and artistry being lost to globalisation and throw away culture.
Before the pandemic I was developing my textile tours to Peru and Sweden, working with local artisans to provide workshops for my groups. This is on hold but meantime I am enjoying my newly found studio and shop in Orkney, looking forward to running workshops and classes as soon as Covid regs allow. We will have lots of fun dyeing, printing , making quilts inspired by our travels and felting.
I used to enjoy teaching and selling at some of the big shows, Malvern, Birmingham and Harrogate but being more mature! these days I think it will be tough to do alone...all that unloading and loading! But I’m still happy to travel in Scotland to give talks and workshops.
