The organisers of The Festival of Quilts (Immediate Live)
have been in touch to give an update about the show following Monday’s
Government announcement about the easing of lockdown.
Whilst the lifting of restrictions has been delayed to the 19th July, they remain confident about delivering this year’s Festival of Quilts at the NEC in Birmingham from 29th July – 1st August.
Immediate Live are incredibly grateful to everyone who has booked a ticket so far, and for their continued faith in this year’s event.
Visiting a large event after a year in lockdown may seem daunting but they want to reassure you that safety is their number one priority. They are using more hall space than ever and are doing everything possible to ensure the event is spacious and distanced, with Government guidelines being strictly adhered to.
Recent pilot events have gone extremely well and will continue to run over the next four weeks. Learnings from these will be applied to The Festival of Quilts.
It is also likely that visitors and exhibitors will be asked to show proof of vaccination or a negative test result, providing even greater confidence in their ability to run safely. Click here to read more about their safety measures.
It would greatly help the organisers to plan if visitors could please book tickets sooner rather than later. We understand that many people will choose not to attend this year, but if you are planning to come and are waiting until the last minute to book, please don’t! Booking early will help the organisers deliver the best possible experience and enables them to manage the complex logistics of the event. You can book in the knowledge that should they be forced to cancel the event, you can transfer your ticket to a future event or receive a refund, excluding the transaction fee.
To manage overcrowding, tickets will be available in advance only and it will not be possible to purchase tickets on the door.
There are great benefits to early booking including priority access to the 2021
digital programme (which includes a Q&A with Jenny Doan and a lecture with
Anna Maria Horner). You will also benefit from a 10% discount on the online
masterclasses with tutors including Hilary Beattie and Judi Kirk.
Guild members can enjoy a discount on tickets using a promotional code (£2 off tickets for adults and concessions, plus additional discounts on workshops and talks). The code is on the FOQ 2021 page in the Members Area of our website. Saturday and Sunday are the quietest days so if you’re concerned about crowds, the weekend is the best time to visit. Click here to book your tickets.
The Quilters’ Guild are really looking forward to seeing you there. Do come and say hello to us in Hall 7 at our membership desk located at F2 and don't miss this fantastic opportunity to see some of our Collection in this year's wonderful exhibition 'Quilt Makers' at stand TG3b.
Thank you so much for your continued support.
